RADON TESTING

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the United States every year next to smoking. The U.S. Surgeon General and the EPA both recommend that all homes be tested for radon. Why? Because radon exists everywhere. It’s a fact. The important thing is to determine the concentration levels of radon in your particular living space. KTS Home Inspections is licensed in all areas of machine operation, machine calibration, placement of monitors, results interpretation, post-testing conclusions and recommendations, report writing, and all testing protocols. KTS Home Inspections will test your home for radon using professional electronic continuous radon monitors to deliver accurate results fast so your transaction will not be on hold. You get results the day the test is concluded. (Extra cost for Radon testing)

NATURAL GAS DETECTION

Natural gas is a vital source of energy for power generation, industrial processes and, increasingly, transportation. Composed primarily of methane, natural gas is odorless, colorless and highly explosive under certain conditions.

POOL / HOT TUB / SAUNA INSPECTIONS

This inspection consists of a visual examination, as well as, an inspection of the equipment and electrical.  When appropriate, all equipment is turned on and allowed to run to be sure it is in working order.

SOME THINGS WE LOOK FOR…

HYDROGEN SULFIDE (H2S) DETECTION

Hydrogen Sulfide is a colorless, highly toxic gas that is poisonous, corrosive, flammable and explosive. Pretty bad stuff! Often found in raw natural gas, or produced as a byproduct of certain industrial processes, hydrogen sulfide is heavier than air and can cause injury or death if inhaled, even in low concentrations.

CARBON MONOXIDE TESTING

If you experience the following symptoms: fatigue, chest pain, impaired vision / coordination, headaches, dizziness, confusion, nausea, or flu-like symptoms that clear up after leaving home, I recommend you test for Carbon Monoxide. This can be fatal at high concentrations. There are many sources of CO in your home. Have your levels tested so you know your air is safe.

GAS MONITORS

Gas monitors are devices used to monitor and alert employees to the presence of toxic and combustible gases as well as oxygen-deficient environments that may pose a threat to human health and safety.

NEW CONSTRUCTION INSPECTIONS

A one-year warranty inspection, aka 11-month warranty inspection, is a standard home inspection only with a different name.  One-year warranty inspections should be conducted before the builders one-year warranty is up.

RENTAL / MULTI UNITS INSPECTION

The primary objective of a rental property inspection is to ensure that all features of a multi-unit apartment, condo, or any other property are in reasonable and good working condition.

Testimonials

“After doing an inspection with Kenny for our new home, we were highly impressed. He is very informative and helpful with answering all of our questions, we never felt out of the blue on something. His report was completed right away the next day, and suggesting references for the issues was very kind of him to forward with us. He was able to answer any questions even days after the inspection. His scheduling was flexible for us. I requested if he could communicate with us through text messages because of my work, it was the best method of communication for me. Pricing is great as well. We are picky when it comes to selecting a service, Kenny is a great inspector, highly recommend.”
